Artificial intelligence is taking over many of the day to day jobs done on the planet. As its usage picks up pace, it is hard to see what the role and purpose of humans may be in the future. However, it is not all doom and gloom for some of us.

Many jobs can simply not be replaced by AI. Below, we have collected 10 AI-safe jobs that are unlikely to be replaced by computers in our lifetime. 

1. Healthcare Workers

Less than 30% of a nurse’s daily tasks can be replaced by automation. Add to this the intuition combined with a solid knowledge base that is the mark of a good doctor, and AI replacing humans in healthcare looks unlikely. 

2. Lawyers

Artificial intelligence that would work out the complexities and humanistic side of the law is a scary thought. The legal system employs a lot of people to ensure fair sentencing and law is never black and white. Human touch is always needed. 

3. Social Workers

Just like the law, social work needs a human side. The occupation is about caring and providing support, something AI is not capable of doing. Jobs that require the right side of our brain, the emotional and creative core, are some of the most AI-safe jobs. 

4. Line Installers

Line installers need both physical skills to climb and move in tricky situations, but they also need a strong technical background. It is hard to imagine a robot capable of applying any of these skills in a situation soon. 

5. Teachers

Either in a classroom or online, teaching needs a human face. If not just to teach and explain new concepts, but also to provide encouragement and personalized learning. A teacher inspires and computers do not. 

6. Writers and Authors

Artificial intelligence is developing its own creativity, but it is a long way from sophisticated. They do not absorb language and ideas like humans do and do not have the facility to create them into an art that appeals to others.  

7. Occupational Therapists

Occupational therapists are concerned with the rehabilitation of the individual. This involves looking holistically at the ups and downs of human progress, which is not a straightforward process. It needs a certain type of character with numerous qualifications to be a good therapist, that AI does not have. 

8. Mechanics

Although AI has long been used in the automotive industry, an engine will always need a human touch to repair it. An engine is a complex machine that has multiple parts. It needs testing, refining, and improving, and a robot does not yet have the capability to do this with finesse.

9. Supervisors

For the immediate future, the AI and robots that replace jobs are still going to need people to watch over them. This will include computer systems analysts to work on programming and c# read excel files. It will also include supervisors who watch the day to day processes on the factory and manufacturing floor. 

10. Restorers

This one is quite wide-ranging, from furniture to automobile body restoration. Restoring something takes a keen eye, an artistic hand and finesse. It will be a long time until robots can do this.
