The upcoming Florida facility might employ a workforce of 50 employees. Additionally, it will serve as a crucial final destination for Amazon’s Kuiper satellites. After being manufactured at the primary Kuiper project plant located in Redmond, Washington, these satellites will make their way to this processing facility. Here, a ten-story-tall room will facilitate the fitting of satellites into rocket payload fairings. It will also act as a protective shell that houses the satellites atop the rockets.

Construction of the site commenced in January, and Amazon is diligently working towards completing it by late 2024. Steve Metayer, Amazon’s vice president of Kuiper Production Operations, revealed this information. Amazon is committed to launching its initial mass-produced satellites by early 2024. It wants to embark on an ambitious mission to deploy half of the network into orbit by 2026.

The competition in the satellite-based internet industry is intensifying. Note that Amazon is striving to make significant progress in its Kuiper project to ensure global broadband coverage. Additionally, they have secured an impressive total of 77 heavy-lift rocket launch contracts. Note that Amazon’s potential earnings from these deals could reach billions of dollars. The majority of these contracts are connected to United Launch Alliance. It’s also the joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed, and Blue Origin, the space company founded by Jeff Bezos.
