Productivity is what all the organizations and businesses work for.  Productivity can be achieved through proper planning, implementation, and employee engagement. The planning though is done by the higher level of the organization, the employees are the ones who get the real groundwork done.  Today, let’s take a look at how the employees can be engaged to increase productivity. Going by this, the same is found to be implemented in coworking space in Hyderabad, Bangalore and many other metropolitan cities.

What exactly motivates the employees to work better and deliver on time? This is a common question that is frequently pondered by organizations.  Entrepreneurs look for ways to create a company culture within the office for rent.

A survey conducted recently by CBRE contradicts the famous belief that ‘good work experience is needed the most compared to the trendy and attractive workplace.’ The survey conducted considers multiple points that affect the satisfaction of employees at the workplace.  Well, the survey results surprised one and all. The additional amenities such as fitness center or Gym, TT tables, Availability of beer at the place, or a child care center did not figure in the list.

The workplace needs to be Effective

The workplace needs to create an emotional connection between the employees and the companies. The Workplace is inclusive of two factors:

  • The physical space also called a workplace should be comfortable to work.
  • The emotional need of employees to the organization.

Comfortable is another important thing at Workplace

The Workplace by name is just a business center with facilities to work. The physical elements which support the convenience to work are looked for by the employees. The basic elements are:

  1. Good natural lighting.
  2. Good outdoor views.
  3. Technology infrastructure.
  4. On-site Café
  5. Open office space

Well, this was surprising as most of the working force from millennials to the old generation agreed on it completely.  A good work experience is something that everyone working on agrees unanimously.

The trendy, colorful coworking spaces can light the eyes up of the users in those initial days. But they tend to fade away if plug and play workspace does not provide comfort and amenities to accomplish the work on hand. Outdoor Views and Natural light are something that give constant motivation. The light and view in itself can motivate the employees to get on with their work.

Food has always been a key to establish communication and bring the community together. So, what better way to engage the employees than to have a good café.

Create workplace experience

Employees need a connection with the organization. The employees have a strong need ‘To Belong’ and ‘Need to be Seen’ within the organization. As the organizations acknowledge these needs, the connection is established with the employees. This connection motivates the employees to take up responsibility and engage themselves to deliver better to their clients.

The physical space requirements rank much lower compared to employee engagement. It is a known fact that workplace experience values more than 95% of employee engagement. Rest other attributes don’t figure when it comes to referring a friend or acquaintance to their organization.

Organizations are working to establish employee engagement by

  • Engaging employee supportive policies such as flexibility in work schedule.
  • Creating a work environment to create trust amongst the employees and management.
  • Create opportunities for professional development.
  • The effort to build a community with social events.

As organizations have understood that attrition hurts their productivity, they are taking proactive steps to engage the employees and retain the talent within the organization.
