Vera Vasilyeva was born on September 30, 1925 in Moscow. Father – Kuzma Vasilievich Vasiliev. Mother – Alexandra Andreevna Vasilyeva.

In 1943, the future actress entered the Moscow City Theater School on the course of V. V. Gotovtsev.

Vera Vasilieva: The opportunity to join art was cut short by the war. I entered the theater school only in 1943. And in 1941 I went to work at a factory as a milling machine operator, because I had to live somehow, and they gave me bread on a work card ”.

In 1945, while still a student, Vasilyeva made her film debut, playing the episodic role of an electrician in the film “Gemini”.

In 1948, after graduating from college, Vera became an actress of the Moscow Academic Theater of Satire, where her most famous work was the role of Countess Almaviva in V. Pluchek’s play Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro by Beaumarchais (1968).

While working at the theater, Vasilieva married actor Vladimir Petrovich Ushakov. The couple has no children. The marriage was strong. The actress has lived with her husband for more than fifty years.
