Priced at INR 10999, it will be receiving security upgrades for three years and software updates for the next two years. With its black glass design, it is aesthetically good and has MediaTek Helio P60 SoC. Let us take a good look at its pros and cons and see whether Nokia 5.1 Plus will be a good buy this year or not.

Design –

The phone has a high gloss body and it gives it a premium look. Because of the mobile’s stunning looks, it seems it would be an expensive one. Thus, you will be getting premium aesthetics at a very affordable cost. The back is made up of 2.5D curved glass. Nokia 5.1 Plus, because of its well finished glossy body, is quite slippery. The built is strong and durable. It has a 5.86-inch display and the aspect ratio is 19:9. In order to make the phone affordable, its resolution was compromised. The phone has a good brightness and lively vibrant colors. The physical buttons have been placed on the right side of the mobile and give a nice crispy feel. It comes with a USB type C port, dual SIM tray on the left side with 4G VoLTE support and has expandable storage. The screen notch design seems a little too wide, there are thick borders and a noticeable chin and camera bump. Below the camera on the back, there is a fingerprint scanner, which could have been a little larger and more prominent for convenience. Nokia 5.1 plus is light and overall a very convenient phone which is easy to handle and functions smoothly.

Features –

The phone has a MediaTek Helio P60 octa core SoC, which is very good at the price it comes at and nearly similar to Snapdragon 636. Nokia 5.1 plus has 3 GB RAM and a storage of 32 GB, dual band Wi Fi 802.11ac, Category 4 LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, USB OTG, GPS systems like Beidou and Galileo and FM radio. It lacks NFC.

With Android 8.1 Oreo, the phone will have a support application by HMD Global and you can book appointments with the service center and get any help regarding the phone. It has android’s face unlock feature but it might not work properly in dim light. The phone’s performance is good and it performs several tasks simultaneously without any trouble. While playing games, the area over the LED flash begins to heat up. The heat won’t spread to the rest of the body quickly and the phone will take around half an hour of heavy workload to get warm, which is manageable enough.

The mobile’s loudspeaker is placed at the bottom and it is loud enough. While watching or playing in landscape mode, the speaker will be covered by the hand. It would be better to use a headset. The headset that comes with Nokia 5.1 plus is a normal one with no control buttons and has dull sound.

Camera –

Nokia 5.1 plus has a 13 megapixel camera with a second 5 megapixel depth sensor. The day time photography is good. Dim light photos weren’t that good. The camera features work fine but could’ve been better. The depth camera blurs the photo but it looks a bit artificial. You can record videos at 1080p with stabilization. Night time video recording isn’t very good but daytime recording is nice.

Battery –

Nokia 5.1 plus has a 3060mAh battery. The phone can easily work for over a day with a single charge. They haven’t provided any fast charging feature but the 10W charger given charges fine. In almost two hours, you can fully charge the mobile. You can also explore some of best gadgets online with Amazon Coupons today.

The price of the phone, which is INR 10,999, is really good and the features provided at this cost are truly worth it. Though it has some drawbacks with its camera and resolution. The HD+ display wasn’t exactly causing any trouble and works fine enough. With good aesthetics, great battery life, powerful processor and being a part of the android one programme, this phone is a good option at a reasonable cost.
