Xiaomi is preparing to bring its Mijia Water Purifier 3 1200G to the market, with pre-orders already underway and regular sales scheduled to start on October 30. The purifier cost starts at 1,499 yuan (around $225).
Its high-capacity design is intended for households that need a dependable supply of drinking water without relying on chemical additives in the filtration process.
Chemical-Free Scale Management and Long-Term Water Safety
The machine takes a different approach to scale control, leaving chemical inhibitors out of its filter materials. Instead, it uses an automatic flushing mechanism to clear water that has been sitting inside the pipes.
This helps maintain water freshness when the purifier has not been used for a while. Xiaomi also lists mother-and-baby-grade purification certification, BPA-free water output, and a rated lifetime capacity of 50 tons of purified water.
Inside Xiaomi’s Multi-Layer Filtration Technology
Inside the unit, 13 filtration stages work together, with the manufacturer specifying a precision of 0.0001 microns. Xiaomi claims the system can tackle 145 kinds of contaminants associated with tap water.
The list includes residual chlorine, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, and other impurities. Water passes through successive treatment stages before reaching the outlet, allowing the purifier to address a broad range of unwanted substances in a single system.
Smart App Features Put Water Quality Data at Your Fingertips

The Mijia Water Purifier 3 1200G also features app controls and simple water quality monitoring. It shows the selected dispensing mode, the water quantity requested and the TDS readings on its display.
Xiaomi has rated the device with IPX8 waterproof, meaning it can resist water from entering. Owners can check consumption data, track filter life, adjust water flow and buy new filters without having to go through different menus on the Mi Home app.
The machine is designed to provide fast water dispensing, not to wait for a small glass of water. Xiaomi’s initial flow rate is 3.74 litres per minute. A cup of 150 mL will fill in about 2.4 seconds at this rate. The company also claims a throughput rate of approximately 1400G.
Antibacterial Outlet Design Aims to Prevent Contamination
If a purifier is not used, outlet can harbor bacteria in the pipes and allow them to grow. Xiaomi tackles this risk with a post-filter and durable antibacterial material fitted within the outlet pipe.
The company says this combination provides an antibacterial effectiveness of more than 99% against E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The goal is to minimize the chance of contamination until the purified water gets to the user.
Final Words
The Xiaomi Mijia Water Purifier 3 1200G promises to make everyday drinking water cleaner and easier to use with its 13-stage filtration system, outstanding water flow rate and intuitive app controls. The device is said to be capable of treating 145 different types of contaminants and has a purification capacity of 50 tons, so there’s much more to talk about than the sleek specs.
The purifier, which begins at 1,499 yuan, is stuffed with technology for a home item. Its actual value, however, will be determined by its filtration capabilities, replacement filter costs and reliability upon consumer use. Xiaomi’s new release is definitely a promising one, but the real challenge will come when it’s actually used.
