Anubis Fixes

Since Anubis is a new map in CS:GO, many bugs were found on it during matches. This negatively affected the gameplay. In top-level matches, this could significantly affect the result. Therefore, Valve immediately began to make adjustments to the map of Anubis. The game developers fixed a place where weapons or grenades could fall through the ground. Also, transparent textures were removed throughout the map, because of which there were problems with throwing grenades. This significantly hindered the game, so a change was necessary. In addition, these textures affected damage when shooting at an opponent. Another bug that the developers fixed is cropping the player all over the map. The developers also added a collision to the signs.

So, the main changes made to the Anubis map are:

  • Fixed some spots where guns would fall through the world near canal
  • Fixed grenades falling through floor on A site fountain.
  • Fixed surface properties on models to prevent bullet penetration.
  • Adjusted grenade clips throughout map.
  • Adjusted player clipping throughout map.
  • Reduced size of trim at mid.
  • Added collision to signs.
  • Closed various pixel gaps.
  • Minor optimizations.

Ancient Changes

On the Ancient map, a bomb B was discovered. This was done by compressing two blocks on each side. This created a new angle all the way from the lane to the ramp. In addition, the cube on the court was made smaller, essentially depriving players of the opportunity to hide there. These changes improved the balance of the map. Because previously the balance was strongly shifted towards CT, which reduced the interest of watching the game on Ancient. This was achieved by reducing the B side zone, which is to the left of the T spawn. From the results demonstrated by the teams on the professional stage, it immediately became clear that Valve’s idea was successful. Teams began to gain significantly more rounds for the T side, and the Ancient map began to be played more often.

So, the main changes made to the Ancient map are:

  • Increased bomb radius to 650 from 500. T side players can now control a possible demining bomb for longer without losing their weapon during the explosion.
  • Flattened out cubbies in red house top of mid.
  •  Pushed back CT spawn 256 units. In new patch players playing for the CT side get to the B side one second longer.
  • Compressed blocky things on B site, to create longer sightlines and more space to move around. now the exit from the Ramp can be seen from the Back Halls position and vice versa. This is a convenient position for a sniper playing on the CT side, and T side players now have an easier time controlling the crossing of opposing players.
