LG Electronics India has expanded its commercial-appliance business with the launch of a new chest-freezer range comprising six models. The company is targeting a broad set of customers, from retailers and HoReCa businesses to dairy and ice-cream operators, pharmaceutical companies, food-storage businesses and households.

The Convertible Chest Freezer line covers capacities ranging from 102 litres to 530 litres, with four capacity options: 102 litres, 205 litres, 315 litres and 530 litres. LG has also equipped selected PRO variants with a convertible cooling system. Depending on the requirement, these models can function either as chillers or as deep freezers, with temperatures adjustable from -31°C up to +10°C.

Energy consumption is another point on which LG has highlighted the new range. The company said its 315-litre and 530-litre PRO models have earned 5-star ratings under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) system.

LG Targets Growing Demand for Flexible Commercial Refrigeration

Young Min Hwang, Home Appliances Solution Sales Division Leader at LG Electronics India, said the changing requirements of businesses have created room for more flexible refrigeration equipment. According to Hwang, companies in several sectors are looking for storage systems that can accommodate different cooling needs.

“Commercial refrigeration is an important and evolving opportunity in India, with businesses across retail, HoReCa, dairy, ice cream, pharma and food storage looking for reliable and flexible solutions to meet their growing cooling and storage needs,” Hwang said.

Hwang said LG’s decision to enter the chest-freezer market builds on its existing refrigeration business. He added that the move will allow the company to address the different storage and cooling needs of commercial customers.

LG has used multiple layers of insulation to reduce heat exchange. The main cabinet has 70mm of PUF insulation, while the door has a 75mm layer. The central section gets 100mm of insulation. The freezers also have UV-protected outer bodies and removable gaskets.

The company has fitted the units with braked castor wheels for easier movement and positioning. Pocket-style handles make them easier to grip, while LED lighting helps users see inside the storage compartment.

LG Chest Freezer Price in India and Model-Wise Costs

The new chest freezers are now available in India, with prices starting at ₹28,990. LG has priced the 102-litre PRO model at ₹28,990 and the 205-litre PRO at ₹37,990.

The 315-litre range includes two versions. The PLUS model costs ₹38,990, while the PRO variant is priced at ₹48,990. At 530 litres, the PLUS model costs ₹51,990. The 530-litre PRO is the most expensive model in the range at ₹62,990.

Final Words

With the launch of the chest-freezer segment, LG Electronics India has now provided an alternative choice for businesses and households to keep their ice cream, pharma products and more properly chilled. The new range is available in 6 sizes, ranging from 102 litres to 530 litres, and the PRO variants will also include convertible cooling for those who need to switch between chilling and deep freezing.

The price range is spread across multiple budgets starting from ₹28,990 and climbing up to ₹62,990. The PRO models are also 5-star BEE rated and might be a good choice for those who wish to monitor their energy use. LG’s new range is definitely a lot to think about for businesses that require serious cold storage but don’t want the freezer to be a permanent fixture. After all, when the freezer does the work, it’s easier to keep things cool.
