The Vivo S2 is said to bring the company’s S series back to India after an interval of nearly six years. Vivo itself has disclosed nothing about the handset so far, yet alleged dummy units have found their way online and give a fairly clear idea of how the phone may look. The device is expected to make its debut on August 6, while sales are tipped to begin five days later, on August 11.
Leaked Dummy Models Reveal the Vivo S2 Exterior Design
A fresh set of images, shared on X by tipster PassionateGeekz, shows what are claimed to be dummy units of the Vivo S2. The handset appears in black and rose gold, a combination that does not agree with earlier reports. Those reports pointed instead to Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White as the colours likely to be offered in India. As with most pre-launch leaks, the matter will remain unsettled until Vivo makes its announcement.
The Vivo S2 seems to have a matte rear panel. A pill-shaped camera island sits near the top and rises slightly above the surface. Two camera lenses occupy the left side of the module. A circular ring, likely meant to serve as a light, sits opposite them on the right.

A sticker on the dummy unit bears the Vivo S2 name. The images also suggest that Vivo has chosen polycarbonate for both the frame and the back. The front carries a curved display with a centred hole-punch for the selfie camera.
Expected Specifications, Variants and Pricing

According to the tipster, the Vivo S2 may use a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chip is expected to power the device. The rear camera system could pair a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation and a second 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The new leak tells a different story from the earlier reports. Those reports pointed to a triple rear camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. They also claimed the phone would run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
Reports now suggest Vivo will sell the S2 in India with two memory options: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. Earlier retail listing images showed the handset in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White. They also listed demo units at Rs. 38,000 and Rs. 42,000. Another entry put the price of the 8GB + 128GB variant at Rs. 43,000.
Final Words
Vivo has yet to reveal anything about the S2, and the latest dummy leak has only further fueled the mystery surrounding the handset. The leaked design and specs are promising, but the various reports on the chipset, cameras, colours and pricing remind us that pre-launch rumors can change as quickly as smartphone wallpaper.
With the current leak, if it’s true, then the Vivo S2 may be the best return for the S series in India with its premium display, modern hardware and capable camera. However, it’s better to take all the leaked information with a pinch of salt until Vivo confirms everything. Fortunately, the wait could be short. For now, the rumour mill is in full swing, and it may well need its very own charging adapter by now.
