Xiaomi has introduced another cordless vacuum cleaner in China as part of its growing home appliance range. After bringing out the 4C model not long ago, the company has now launched the Mijia Wireless Vacuum Cleaner 4. The machine is priced at 999 yuan, which comes to roughly $146, and pre-sales begin today on JD.com.

High-Speed Motor and Intelligent Cleaning System

At the centre of the device is a brushless motor capable of spinning at 120,000 RPM. Xiaomi claims the vacuum can reach 230AW of suction power, along with a maximum suction pressure of 25,000Pa. Such numbers are now fairly common among modern cordless cleaners, and they are chiefly meant for the ordinary dirt of domestic life: pet hair, scattered crumbs, and the fine dust that gathers quietly in corners and under tables.

The cleaner also carries a blue light built into the front of the cleaning head. This throws light across the floor for nearly thirty centimetres, making small dust particles easier to notice, particularly beneath furniture or in dark parts of a room. Xiaomi says the head is shaped to clean closely along edges as well, so that dust near skirting boards and walls is less likely to be left behind.

Adaptive Suction and Anti-Tangle Brush Technology

Inside the Mijia Wireless Vacuum Cleaner 4, an infrared sensor keeps watch on the dust moving through the machine. In Smart Mode, the cleaner alters its own suction power as conditions change. It draws harder when it meets heavier dirt and eases off again on cleaner floors. The purpose is simple enough: save battery where extra power is not needed.

Xiaomi has also tried to deal with the old problem of hair winding itself around the roller brush. The main floor head carries a comb-like structure that pulls strands apart while the brush turns. The smaller motorised mite brush works differently. It uses a floating design that guides hair straight into the suction path before it can gather around the roller.

Power comes from a removable battery pack made up of eight 2600mAh cells. Xiaomi says the vacuum can run for as long as ninety minutes, though only in its lowest power-saving mode. In the automatic Smart Mode, usage drops to somewhere between eighteen and thirty-seven minutes, depending on how dirty the floor is. At full suction, the charge lasts for roughly ten minutes before the battery runs down. Since the pack can be removed, users may replace it with another charged unit if they wish.

For filtration, the vacuum relies on a twelve-cone cyclone system that separates dust from the moving air before it reaches the filter. This helps keep the system from clogging too quickly after repeated use. Xiaomi has fitted the cleaner with a five-stage filtration arrangement, including an H13-grade HEPA filter. The company claims it can trap 99.99 per cent of particles as small as 0.3 microns.

Included Accessories and Display Details

The Mijia Wireless Vacuum Cleaner 4 ships with the usual collection of tools. There is the main floor brush, a motorised mite brush, and a two-in-one crevice attachment for narrow spaces and corners. An LED screen sits on the handle and shows battery levels along with the active cleaning mode. Xiaomi also includes a wall-mounted dock, which serves for both charging and storage when the machine is not in use.

Final Words

Ultimately, the Mijia Wireless Vacuum Cleaner 4 is like Xiaomi, as they do with everything else: fitting a lot of technology into something as mundane as a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum has strong suction capabilities, smart dust detection, anti-hair tangling capabilities, and a battery that can reach the length of most apartments, which suggests it’s not just for the showroom floor. Perhaps the most amusing is the blue-light dust detection, as soon as people find out how much dust is hiding under the sofa, ignorance might become a luxury.

Xiaomi is definitely targeting to bring affordable, high-end cordless cleaning to the market at 999 yuan. But if buyers really need 120,000 RPM to battle biscuit crumbs, that’s another story, but at least the crumbs have little chance of surviving.
